here is my issue: the right wing and the Republican party are run by corporate $ and interests and are using fear, intimidation, and lies to control this country. i'm not saying that the Democrats are squeaky clean - all power is evil, but if you can not see the stark difference in who has the people's interests at heart then YOU ARE A FUCKING IDIOT

Sorry, call me crazy but I totally support President Obama calling Limbaugh out on this. It is long past time that we call this AM talk radio propaganda out for the divisive hate speech it is. Honest political debate and discourse is one thing, but as fucks like Limbaugh, Beck, Hannity, Savage are NOT working to make things better in this country. The irony and the hypocrisy here is astounding. When Bush made his "I am the decider" type comments or "This would be a lot easier if it were a dictatorship; so long as I am the dictator" Republicans jizzed themselves over what a strong leader he was. Obama shows an ounce of back bone and they are all shitting in their diapers and crying like little bitches. Further proof that republicans can dish it out but can`t take it.

I am not saying that they are not a problem, they are and tort reform is something that we do need. My point is that the Republicans try to use this as some magic bullet panacea to explain the entirety of the problem. They refuse to talk about a Single Payer system because in that kind of system, all of these HMO`s and insurance companies would become obsolete. The bulk of the problem is that 70% of your health care dollar in our private for profit system goes for "administrative" costs. In a Single Payer system such as Canada or Australia`s even better system, over 90% of the citizen`s health car dollar buys actual health care.

It the intellectual dishonesty regarding tort reform that pisses me off. We could do everything the Republicans wanted in this area and you and I would not see a nickle`s worth of difference on our end because the real problem of corporate greed was not addressed.

I certainly agree with you on the health care, no I don't believe tort reform would solve the whole problem but should be an important part of any solution. I can also see why many in our government would be opposed, after all a large percentage of our political leaders come from a lawyer back ground, making it harder to file and win lawsuits against the health care industry would obviously hurt litigators.

As far as the rush stuff goes, I am not defending rush, I just think it was a bad way to start the presidency to use him as way to criticize the republicans. There are other things in that article such as the comments from the republicans saying Obama didn't allow them input in the stimulus plan that bother me.

I don't disagree with you on this. I always love the way the republicans want to cut taxes for the wealthy and to fund it they want to cut social programs for the poor...it is truly amazing sometimes. Trickle down economics, I love it, so the working class just deserve a trickle?

At the same time I believe there is certain time that certain people who choose not to help them selves and only seek to take advantage of the system should be cut off, this I feel is where I side with republicans. The money saved of course should be used to cut taxes for working class people.

Both major parties are too extreme, too far left and right. We need some viable leader candidates that are willing to move to the center and work together. Unfortunately due to special interests this isn't likely to happen. Once a candidate becomes an elect, they immediately start "campaigning" for their next term and forget all about the people they represent. Term limits are an absolute necessity, but in order for that to take place the ones elected need to pass it into law, not a likely scenario. That leaves us all to sit here and complain on internet forums, to no effect, vote our 1 measly vote and hope for the best while America goes completely broke and declines to an insignificant nation that is our inevitable future.
