I know I love being a mile from Canada.
And proof of the south when I was in Florida on vacation a few years ago I was talking to a girl I met down there and when I told her I lived next to Canada she asked "How do the keep the snow inside Canada? Is there a wall?"

Snowolf I didnt care about the Utah thing at all. I was refering to Munkyspunk with his cute little poster.

In middle school we had several 6th and 7th graders knocked up. It is a really sad that to witness someone just have to go through it but they put themselves there. I am just curious though how they got the iq chart. Mainly the sampling size since it is so easy to skew data like that. And yes an old southern past time is drinking and driving and then tossing the beer cans out the window.

Mystic that is funny about the chick in FL but you have to remember she most likely has never been north of Atlanta and lucky to have gone that far North. I did have fun when I went to Canada since they enjoyed making fun of my accent about their igloos.

they started on me so I threw some Canadian stereotypes back at them while of course giving a few jabs to the South since people there are so close minded.

Munky I can't even talk about that one good try but it is too funny and doesn't affect me at all.

Snowolf do you have any current statistics? Most of the charts or "facts" as you call them are over 5 years old. A lot has changed in the past 5 years. ex: Obama, recession, ongoing war, etc etc. Also did you just randomly pull these things off the internet or do you have a creditable source?

these statistics are fairly well known and not just a one time thing. It's been that way for a long time.

the simple fact of the matter is: the southern bible belt states are the poorest and least educated in the nation. that's just statistics. not to be rude or say that if you're from there you're automatically dumb and poor. but the chances are higher. nobody is saying they are better than anybody else. no reason to be hypersensitive. reality is reality.

you can never address a problem and certainly never fix a problem if you don't even acknowledge it's mere existence. That's a republican trait in general. whistle dixie , bury your head in the sand, and pretend that everything is great. you find this notion expressed in their proclamation of "American Exceptionalism" and "we're the greatest country on earth" and their expression of outrage whenever Obama or any democrat talks about our problems and shortcomings as if we don't have any. being unable to admit your failings is a pathetic characteristic. truly strong people (and countries) admit their failings and attempt to correct them. they don't ignore them.

Fucking truth.

In order to fix a problem, you have to be able to admit that there is a problem.

It's just like so many people who blame all their problems on other people, and never learn from any of their mistakes. If you can admit that You made the mistake, you can analyze what you did wrong, and what you can do to avoid or fix it next time. But if you just point fingers, the problem is going to continue to reoccur.
