"(a) This amendment shall be known and may be cited as the Sanctity of Marriage Amendment.
(b) Marriage is inherently a unique relationship between a man and a woman. As a matter of public policy, this state has a special interest in encouraging, supporting, and protecting this unique relationship in order to promote, among other goals, the stability and welfare of society and its children. A marriage contracted between individuals of the same sex is invalid in this state.
Also on the books:
Issue of incestuous marriages not deemed illegitimate.
The issue of any incestuous marriage, before the same is annulled, shall not be deemed illegitimate."
You've got to allow incest, or who would be left to cast republican votes in the south?
"Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity."

haha. can that be real? that's fucking outrageous. gay marriage rreally isn't my issue and I don't really get worked up about it. I feel it's a diversion issue when economic issues are what is truly important but that is just so over the top. thank god I'm not from the south. they give all of america a bad name. i often wonder whether or not it was a good idea for lincoln to not allow them to be their own country. could you imagine what a third world shithole the confederacy would be if they were their own nation? they'd be on par with the philipines.
Always amuses me how people think everyone in the South is the same way. Just like how everyone is Cali hugs a tree. When some people on here talking politics they love bringing up stereotypes kind of sad if you ask me if that's your main weapon. Laughing at bammers for allowing incest yes is funny but what does that have to do with gay marriage? I can speak on southerners since that is where I am from. Dumb people live everywhere not just in Southern states. Ignorant people run rampant all over the place. When I lived in Indiana I met more dumb "hicks" than I met while I lived in Bama or Tennessee. Where I am going with this? I have no clue but just amuses me how people enjoy talking stereotypes.
I don't know, I hate to say it but It seems like a larger-proportion of dumb people seem to live in the south/midwest.
I'm merely making an inference on the limited amount of time I've spent in those places, but goddamn, if all I had to live for was Nascar, Beer, Pop, Giant disgusting food and Buffets, Mini-Golf, and Fishing, I'd probably be pretty fucking stupid too.
