That's because we had Bush as our president, and he filled his cabinet with conservatives, surrounding himself in people who thought like him. It was because of that he didn't have a second opinion to look too. This time, we have Obama who has diversity in his cabinet. This time we can do it right.

You have to realize that America only takes action when there is some selfish gain to be made, and not even a selfish gain that really benefits the average American. If N.Korea had oil, or some resource we really wanted, we'd be all over their asses fucking shit up, assassinating, hiring rebel groups, and ultimately destabilizing the country so we could stabilize our profits. Alas, at the moment they don't, so we could really care less. As long as they aren't going to fire nuclear missiles at us that we can't handle, no one cares.

Their uranium enrichment facility is supposedly better than our own. They probably have technology for us to gain, and an army that would our ally if we democratize the country. That is something to use as a selfish gain, IMO.

first of all: It's none of our fucking business who has democracy or not. the idea of bringing democracy to another nation by dropping hundreds of thousands of tons of bombs on them and killing half their population is pretty fucking ridiculous. when forced to choose between that and living under a totalitarian dictatorship, I choose the latter.

secondly: we should probably focus on tying to democratize the United States of America before we start to shift the focus overseas. just sayin'
