It's not, but the point is that there are a lot of fucking stupid people in this world, and they make mistakes. Many of them get locked up for way beyond what their crime was, or their crime was something totally stupid that should hardly be a crime.

Throwing people in jail for possession is stupid, because even with hard drugs the only people they are going to kill are themselves. The point of jail is to put away people who are a menace to society. If your a menace to yourself, you either follow the path of Darwin, or you get help, and the services providing help are there to HELP you, not throw you in a jail cell, which does not solve anything.

It's called being pro-active rather then non-active. Americans seem to think that it's a perfectly good solution to just forget about it when they take a massive dump and clog the pipe, and wait until their kitchen sink is spewing out sewer shit everywhere, then do something about it.

I am doing something about it by not doing anything as incredibly stupid as carrying controlled substances. If everyone had the same mentality this thread wouldn't even be here to post in.

if everyone had the same mentality there wouldn't be any republicans because we wouldn't need religious fuckwads telling people what to do.

but we do because the majority of people in the world are fucking stupid.

think about whether it's stupid because it has a significant negative effect on society, or if it's stupid because the government tells you it is?

I don't advocate any drugs or possession, but I think it's stupid to fill out prison's with people who don't belong there, and then tax-payer money is wasted on keeping them in.

It's a simple matter of wasting a lot of money.

And the private sector is THRILLED. Watch the stocks go up.

It doesn't matter; It's breaking the law. And risking going to prison by breaking the law purely for the sake of getting fucked up with your homedawgz is stupid. Why you or I think it's stupid, or whether or not we even think it's stupid at all, is meaningless. Laws are not created based on public accord.

what you all fail to understand it that the point is not what is right. the point in USA is "what makes money is right" by definition.
Drug policies, prisons and lobbies make moneys...the hell with the people. Untill the key motivation of everything is $ you will see the same pattern.

that is THE main problem with CAPITALISM..( based on CAPITAL, for the defence of the CAPITAL and in name of..THE CAPITAL)

Now if you're rich and have a slice of that CAPITAL, good for you. if not...well....how do they say? You should work harder right?
Most hilarious thing to me is that most Republicans, are work class individuals....defending something against their own interest.

"Laws aren't made based on public accord."

That sounds like a big fucking problem because WE ARE A DEMOCRACY, NOT A TYRANNY.

It's not about stupid people getting high, it's about putting stupid people who get high in jail because some asshole makes money off of it. It doesn't help society, it doesnt help the offender, the only one who wins is the guy offering the services.

A true democracy questions laws and their leaders decisions. To not do so, "Because they say so" is the reason we have no power anymore, and our attitudes show that.

Stand up for what is right, not what some fat white guy in a plushy office tells you is right.

Fair enough. You can question. You take back your power. You go revolt.

Let me know when you make any progress.

Me? I'm just going to stick with the idea that the same general population that is too stupid to realize that breaking an easy law to follow will land their ass in jail has no business deciding what laws should or should not govern everyone elses lives. Most laws are made based on perfectly reasonable logic that is incomprehensible to most of the people in this country.
