Fuck...yes!
Please please please makes this a reality. Give me SOMETHING so I can stick it to the airlines and still travel cross country. I'd re-elect Obama in a second if he makes this one thing happen.

YES. I have always thought, why the hell do we not have high speed trains in this damn country?! I have been on amtrak many times and always seem to enjoy it more than flying, but it's not very effecient for longer distances. I know california has been talking about this for a long time now, but they have no money.

I'm all for a highspeed rail system, but if that gets shot down like I know it will, at least improve Amtrack services. Amtrack actually kicks ass, the problem is that your train has to pull over every time a Commercial train goes by. Once again, you can see why that would make the republicans mad, after all they have all their money invested in those shipping corporations. It's quite sad and pathetic, because nowadays I can just expect all progressive moves to make our country better get quickly shot down by the GOP. It's to the point where people are starting to think, "Why Bother".

Want. Very much want.
I hate flying. I hate everything about it. It is a wildly inefficient and polluting method of travel, it is prohibitively expensive, and it is such a tedious and mind-numbing process that I always dread vacation time. High speed electric rail can run off clean energy and travel almost as fast given flying's wait times, taxi times, and holding patterns during traffic. This is something America needs.
