yeah that's a local thing, cops and teachers here get paid crap wages. Our pencil dick governor has said that the national guard will be ready "in case anything happens". What a fucking cockhole. He also said he plans on using the national guard in case prison workers walk off the job.

uh... national guard as union busting scabs? That's classy.

wouldn't be the first time. far from it in fact. this was the standard gov't response to union activities in the pre FDR National Labor Relations act days. Andrew Carnegie used to phone up his friends in the white house to have the national guard sent in to bust unions in his steel mills. just look up the homestead strike. sadly we seem to be heading back into that direction. the middle class will soon be a relic of the past

Well, Florida is trying to run like a corporation right, not that surprising that the National Guard gets hired to be thugs in Wisconsin. Maybe Butch Otter can outlaw public education in Idaho and join the ranks, because no one ever said that was one of your rights, right?

I'll take some pictures of the rallies, post them up tomorrow or wed. It'll either be a lot of people or it'll be a complete wash. Either way I don't think it'll make a big difference in the long run, he can always furlough us as much as he wants.

The Daily Show with John Stewart has covered this Wisconsin thing for the last few weeks and i find it incredible.... especially the media punditry which accompanies it. Defo worth a bitter sweet laugh.

Just coz you don't understand it
Doesn't mean it makes no sense!

Once Jon Stewart gets hold of something, their credibility is screwed
