That's exactly it. There is no way of knowing which way is right. As a Christian you have an equal chance of being wrong and burning in hell as I do as an athiest. We are taking an equal risk in our choices so why do you feel your choice is safer? If the Jews are right and Jesus wasn't the savior then you would have spent your entire life worshipping a false god. Gods reaction to the people when Moses returned with the tablets would seem to frown on such a thing. To randomly pick a religion and expect it to be right makes no sense.

i feel like people are confusing definitions here. "athiest" and "agnostic" are terms easily thrown around and often lumped together. they are actually 2 separate things
‘Theism’ and ‘atheism’ are about belief. ‘Gnosticism’ and ‘agnosticism’ are about knowledge. ![]() personally i prefer this definition of "agnostic" and why i consider myself to the a part of this category: Some philosophers use the word ‘agnostic’ to refer to someone who thinks we can’t know whether or not gods exist. edit: bold and underline

I can sum up my entire opinion of God very easily.
If God sees all the suffering of mankind and does nothing, he is cruel and I want no part of him. If God sees all the suffering of mankind, but cannot do anything to change it, he is not worthy of worship.

Well.... the way I've been thinking of it recently... I hate the majority of people I met when I was raised in church, so..... on the bright side - I imagine the people in hell would probably be more interesting.... then again.... you won't have to worry about being right or wrong.... do you remember before you were born? no? I'm pretty sure it's kind of like that when you die... you just cease to exist... you won't care - you'll be gone..... I dunno it's relieving and depressing to me at the same time depending on the day of the week.

Heaven + Hell = Earth
I think every religion has a bit of truth mixed in with all the BS. There has to be some sort of universal truth out there. But the way I see it Earth is Heaven, it's mankind that are turning it into Hell. In much the same way everybody is capable of good and evil, I think there can be a chance that God and Satan are the same thing. I would rather keep an open mind to the universal truth whatever that may be, then be closed minded and believe I'm going to heaven and not accept blatantly obvious facts that might go against the popular faith. |
