Referring to our air power as "one-sided slaughter" is a little extreme. As for the civilians, I like munkyspunks edit. With any type of warfare you face collateral damage. Not to mention many of these innocent civilians know exactly what they're doing when they are harbor insurgents. No one gets a warm and fuzzy feeling when we find out that women and children have been caught up in an air strike, but it's nothing compared to the horrifying things these insurgents do to their own people. This article rubbed me the wrong way and frankly I have no idea what point the author was trying to make. Had it focused on the changing dynamic of air warfare from fighter jets to drones using actual facts rather than rhetoric and unsupported anecdotes painting the US military as a school yard bully of terminator proportions, then maybe I could have gotten behind it.

there's hardly any such thing as al-queda. the pentagon themselves admitted there are believed to be less than one hundred al queda operatives in Afghanistan. the war is total and complete bullshit. Equivocal to Vietnam. just profiteering. dropping bombs so companies can have an excuse to build more bombs. Al Queda is the boogeyman.

the point about the drones isn't that they kill terrorists. they are killing innocent people. how would you feel if some crazy american terrorist group attacked germany and then germany responded by raining bombs on your friends and family in their own homes? this is what is happening over there. thousands of innocent civilians dying.

by the way: they never stopped farming poppies. our puppet president in Afghanistan's brother is one of the head heroin dealers in the country and your tax dollars are going directly into his pockets every single day while they try to tell us we have to cut spending on education and healthcare.
