Finland...? I know Lutheranism is losing some support there, but it's still a national religion at the moment... I doubt it's going to go extinct just like that.

I read something which said that around 2080 religion will be a distant memory to a huge percentage of the population, with only very very few areas still populated by theists. Once everyone realizes the world isn't coming to an end in 2012 and jesus isn't ever coming back things will already take a huge step in the right direction.

I think it is more "as long as people don't want to accept the consequences of their actions" and "gain the capacity to accept the inevitable, however bad it may be," religion will exist.

And enjoying the inevitable seems well beyond reach...
