So yeah, today's election results. Discuss.
My opinion, I think the worst has happened with the Conservatives getting a majority government. As nice as it is to see the Liberals get beat down, I would have rather seen the Conservatives beat down hard. Especially with the whole internet metering and digital rights stuff going on. |

I think the best news is that the Parti Quebequois has been shellacked.
For the rest, I think a conservative majority government is the least bad alternative. The NDP just on general principles would be a disaster -- With the exception of Sask, NDP governments have all made the Keystone Kops look like geniuses. And the Liberals have just been too arrogant for too long. They needed to have their sense of entitlement yanked.

I heard that the Canadian Government has put trade embargo's on Maple Syrup, all forms of moose product and those leather fur lined hats with the turn-up-able sides. Confirm?

glad that the conservatives get a shot at running the country for one term. The liberals better get there act together cause i would like to have more than one choice when i go to the polls. I don't trust the ndp to run the country. the ndp can always promise the world and sound great because they never get in and have to deliver on their promises. i really don't want a government that decides how the majority of my paycheck gets spent.

With the additional exceptions of Ralph in Alberta filling the coffers with oil money and Williams in Newfoundland standing up to Ottawa and Quebec, I think you can safely call every provincial government, regardless of political stripe, a bunch of idiots. Mike Harris's Ontario was no bed of roses.
