Obama needs to just grab Cantor by his tie and give him a good old fashioned curb stomping. This one snot nosed little prick has so much power he's holding an entire nation's economy hostage. Obama's done all the budging he should and then some, he shouldn't budge one fucking inch more.

you dont get it. We will be in a tighter situation if we don't stop the pandering to those that wish to do nothing with their lives. I can tell you that I'M HIRING!!!!!!!!!!!! I've been waiting for resumes to come pouring in, and ...nothing. In 3 weeks we have gotten 10 people. Two didnt show, two thought the work would be too fast paced and were currently on unemployement, some had jobs looking for more cash than their current, the rest, were unemployed and I have no idea their status but they barely tried at the interview and made no attempts to ask for the job at the end.

NOT ONE person really seemed to want the job. Pays enough , no college needed, to buy a small house and have a car payment. Someone in their 20's SHOULD be diving on it, but in reality, no one wants to work when everything is being handed to them.

And it has me a bit ticked off. I see people..lounging around while I'm slaving everyday, only to see my tax bill go up up and away..... taxes on this, taxes on that...oh you made money being smart - gotta tax you more for the dumbass that sits at home , carries a pizza delivery job at night and sleeps most of the day at 30 something.

give me a break, we gotta bend now or we ARE going to break.

I saw a bumper sticker that really had me laughing, then mentally sobbing. "Keep on working! Millions on welfare depend on you!"

F that. CUT this shit out. Sorry you cant afford a car payment and to live in the same hood as me on welfare, dont like it..go get a job.

And for those that actually really need it - I'm there for you! I really am! I BELIEVE there needs to be a system in place for those people, but currently I bet only 10% of the people on welfare really need it.

sincraft that's what you don't understand, taxes pay for future employees to be qualified to work. Any business that anyone operates depends on both employees to be educated enough to do the job and for consumers to be educated enough to make money and pay for your product, whatever it may be. By giving all the money to the wealthy few, you short-circuit that cycle.

100% Correct. That's why the above statements prove how the Tea Party has absolutely no credibility and are hypocrites.

To the OP, yea I got excited a bit too when that happened as I thought Obama was finally showing some guts but I've been disappointed again with the passage of this debt deal. No tax increases whatsoever as Obama had demanded. If he were a fighter, he would have threatened to use the 14th Amendment threat. Thus even if he didn't use it, he would greatly have leveraged his position in this Mexican standoff. Whether or not one believes in the constitutionality of using the 14th Amendment is moot because it would have been extremely difficult to find any legal standing to bring it to court nor impeach him because Democrats control the Senate. As it stands, Democrats (and our entire nation) were the losers in this deal. $850 billion over a decade in spending cuts to defense is miniscule.
