So what's your stance on ghosts?
Just an interesting thought I had and found some interesting thoughts on it in the GoggleSphere. My personal belief is that ghosts are a real occurrence. However, my definition of ghosts are paranormal activities. There's a possibility that the occurrences are just traces of leftover energy. A recording of our existence if you will. To take it a step further, I think it could also have to do with string theory. Could be that we're picking up on energy from other dimensions. To be frank, there's more evidence for ghosts than there is for any deity. Granted, it's likely that 90% are hoaxes/hallucinations. Thoughts. |

Yeah, my problem isn't with the possibility of ghosts or reincarnation or deities or psi or whatever. My buttons get pushed when someone insists that the evidence is so overwhelming that only a moron wouldn't believe (I'm paraphrasing, but you get the attitude). Then when you try to look at the 'evidence' it's either nonexistant or some variation on evidence by strong belief or testimonials or eye-witness accounts by someone who once knew someone who had a cousin that talked to someone on a chat room that had a friend's inlaw who saw a ghost.
I'm prepared to listen to ideas and evaluate evidence. I'm not prepared to be bullied, buffaloed, bamboozled or browbeaten into accepting something because someone says so. Fact is, you're looking at the A-number-one sci-fi fan. At one time (when I was single ) I had a collection of several thousand SF and fantasy paperbacks. I'd love it if aliens landed. I'd be dancing in the streets if they proved the existance of the soul or local equivalent. I'd be first in line to do past-lives regression if it was shown to be valid. I WANT all this stuff to be true. But I'm also a hard-nosed skeptic, and I'm not about to swallow it whole.

I've lived in some well accepted "haunted" places. I've lived in Charleston, SC, I've lived a few blocks from the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, I went to college in the heart of Civil War Country in central VA. I've never encountered anything that a moments pause and a healthy dose of logic couldn't explain. That's not to say they don't exist, but label me skeptical.

I think ghosts are a manifestation of the mind. I've never seen anything that convinces me there are any kind of supernatural beings in our houses.
That having been said, I do occasionally run back to the bedroom from the bathroom at night for reasons I cannot explain.

My grandparents live on probably the most paranormal property known to man. I have seen lights dip from the sky into their fields numerous times. However these lights are not big, so it is possible that it is some sort of natural electrical phenomenon. I have had "ghostly" (for lack of a better term) figures appear in photos i shoot on the property, of which the entire roll was just nature and landscape shots.
I used to be skeptic, but now i think there has to be something to these things. Whether its actual ghosts, aliens, or natural phenomenon not yet understood, something is going on. |

I'm definitely with Leo, being that most of these occurrences are caused by processes or irregularities within nature and physics we do not understand yet.

You're just trying to make sure you don't miss any of those Project Runway reruns.
