It's foolish to think that it can't help set precedent here. That is what is scary about this.

I agree 100%

And disagree with it 100%

It's good to know exactly where you stand Milo!

Seriously though, if something comes up in the states that is similar in circumstance with no other incidents in the US they can find that set precedent, the next thing is to look at what other 1st world countries are doing with their experiences. Doesn't mean that they'll agree with it, but it sets a point of reference.

Killclimbz has a point. It's kind of like that Metallica song, "Sad but True" and it's almost as bad.

ha, I was saying I agree with what you're saying, and disagree that it should set a tone for where things will go in the states.

It's situations like this that end up changing laws.... Tyyyyypically it seems like it needs to happen in the states, before it changes our laws as a whole. But now that it happened elsewhere, a lawyer is going to see an angle when this happens here.

It really is a big deal and a big ass bummer.... Each and every person is responsible for themselves, that's why we're supposed to pick good riding buddies, and educate ourselves right??

It's tough for me to debate this one without getting pissed off...

I'm not a huge splitboarder, but I will be spending a lot of time this winter shredding off the sled so this means a lot to me as well.

I will very rarely be doing the stupid stuff that snowmobilers do.... I'm a snowboarder with a sled

They get caught in crap when sidehilling and high marking....

I will be doing a bit of high marking to be dropped off or drop off buddies, but no sidehilling. Easiest way EVER to trigger a slide.

Will most likely be running up spines if possible, we'll have to see.

But I get what you mean with the pie chart no doubt.

That and the amount of terrain you can cover in a short period of time. Clues that you notice as you are strolling along, are not as easy to spot when you are ripping on a 600lb noise machine.

End of thread I hope.
