Already signed. This is some bs. The pretense sounds great until you realize companies are just going to use this to censor any blog, forum, whatever that just happens to not have good things to say about them. Fuck 'em.

I'll be fucked, Yobeat will be fucked, the big three might squeak by if they just keep cupping the balls, but if you like freedom you need to be voiced on this. We're not Egypt.

Done. What the hell is this world coming to? Why must those with power always flex and crush anything that they consider "wild" or "unregulated". It's only a matter of time before you can't even take a walk around the block before notifying authorities and filling out a 10 page form so the proper documentation is in place.
Makes me so damn angry...

yup, signed it too. that is some serious bull shit right there. Freedom of speech includes the internet. Sites will be censored based on the discretion of a few individuals that will most likely be heavily influenced by lobbyists and bribes. I cant wait to see what anon does about this internet censorship shit.

This is govt doing private companies' bidding.
Fuck that. That said, a similar bill passed through the senate earlier this year, and is on hold because of the potential to "muzzle" speech. That bill, the Protect IP bill, is less intrusive than this one. So if that one is on hold in the Senate, this should definitely stall in the Senate as well since it goes even further. I'm not saying its DOA, but that last bit is promising. Darrell Issa, every Democrat's favorite Republican, says SOPA has no chance of passing. Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it. |
