So keep on arguing about these earth shattering issues while we are involved in endless wars, the country sinks deeper into financial ruin, the police state grows exponentially every day, and the rich get richer while the poor get poorer.
Are you suggesting revolution?

A revolution? No, it's time for an EVOLUTION! We need to make some drastic changes in the way we think about things. What are the two biggest reasons for wars, and human suffering? I'll tell you what they are RELIGION AND POLITICS!! We live in a historically unique period, never before have humans had the ability instantly share ideas with anyone around the world, kind of eliminates the need for some power hungry megalomaniac to solve the differences in cultures. We don't need some religious fairy tales to explain things that occur in nature, it's not god's anger that causes lightening, or tornadoes, or anything else for that matter. It's time to move past these archaic ways of thinking and work together as one planet, and one race.

This utopian thinking is fruitless. There are vast cultural differences that do not hinge on religion, which even if you believe religion is a lie I'd argue it's a necessary one. If these cultures are to coexist under one governing body, some will have to give up their history and tradition. Who's to decide who sacrifices and who doesn't?

It's only fruitless because no one seems to able to rise to the next level of thinking. People are stuck in repeating the past by holding onto these believes, it does nothing but stagnate society as a whole. We have stepped into a new age of technology, this makes it a whole new ball game that we are trying to play by the old rules, just doesn't work.

I'm not talking about a new world order type omnipotent world Gov't, that would just create more power drunk lunatics. I don't know exactly what the answer is, I do know that the old systems of governing do not work anymore. I also know that the internet and global communications between the common person is the key to a new way of governing, I have some general ideas as to how this would work.

To say all of a religion is a lie isn't so, each religion has a piece of the truth mixed in with subtle manipulations of the truth and yes out right bullshit. They put enough truth in there to make the BS believable, thus creating a very dangerous mixture of fervor. One religion will call BS on the others religion and next thing you know they are killing each other just because of differences of opinions on BULLSHIT! The part that gets me is, all these ancient fairy tales are explaining the same thing in different ways. If you strip out all the crap and look only at base fundamentals, all religions say the same thing.

A Presudent does not enact economic policy so a President's view here is secondary. As Commander in Chief and the nation's top executive, he directly affects Constitutional issues like the horrendous USA Patriot act that Dems and Repubs all support.

For me, Obama is just another case of holding my nose and voting for the lesser of two evils. Obama is a turd but Romney/Ryan is a case of the bloody flux!
It is a sorry state of society that we only have 2 choices and neither one is worth a shit. I often wonder what would happen if we had a complete boycott of the whole election Could you imagine the reaction if after these shitbags spent their billions on their BS campaigns, and no one showed up to vote at all, no rallies, no protests, just completely blow it off, wouldn't that be a hoot

I really hope Ron Paul runs as independent, or gets on the ballot somehow. For the first time in my 25 years of being eligible to vote I would actually register and vote for him Other then that I won't waste my time.

Interesting take Jeffrey, sounds very postmodern. Wars have always been fought over religion, politics and resources, so how do we use instant mass communications to change the game? I agree that the ease with which we now communicate makes political leadership less pertinent domestically. However, how does this change diplomacy amongst nations? How can we use instant communication to promote change in the Western world, to curb our gluttonous ways in favor of conservation? And, more importantly, how do we convince religious fundamentalists that life in this world is as significant as any potential life in the after world? Specifically, how do we convince unstable regimes not to blow their neighbors off the face of the earth?

I love when old white people say racist shit and don't realize it. Gives me a chuckle every time.
