That's a shame that you stopped reading I think some interesting points have been made along the way. And you're quite wrong about the second part one side has completely made up their mind. The other has decided their mind based on what their current understanding and what proof their is and will change it overnight if there anyone can produce credible proof that it is wrong.

You appear to be an atheist in that case. Not even Dawkins will say there definitely isn't a god because no one can prove there isn't. But with zero evidence for the existence of a god, the possibility is so incredibly unlikely as to be as good as certain.

The argument is: I might tell you there was a teapot circling the sun. And no matter how unlikely that would be to be true, or how many people believe there is or isn't there is absolutely no way anyone could prove there isn't.

You can pick and choose all you want, but when you start with an absurd claim where else can you go either than in an even more absurd claim? The belief system is absurd because it is based on absurdity! (age of the Earth). It's like starting a discussion on gravity claiming, for example, that gravity happens only during the day. That is absurd and will only lead to more absurd claims. Nothing else.
