I think a lot of Christians get so hung up on anything that challenges them that they miss the full picture.

Why couldn't have God created the heavens and the earth through means that science has theorized?

I don't deny the Big Bang theory or how the earth, sun and other planets came into existence. I just believe that God was the instigation of those events.

I don't believe in the spontaneous creation of life. It had to come from somewhere.
so do you believe in god but not the bible? if you believe in the bible then how do you reconcile the timeline discrepancies?

Big Bang is not a theory...is what we see galaxies do if we reverse their current (expanding) pattern. They all go back to a singular point.

I don't discuss faith.

haha

I said that because I've seen people people claim that to be true and I didn't want to get lumped with them.

Then you aren't a creationist. A creationist believes that everything in the bible is literal. Creationists also deny evolution. You're a Christian

eh. They call it that on those science shows so I went with it. My point was that I believe that's probably what happened/is happening.

If I was Jesus I would have made myself a Velociraptor with a saddle!

Just remember guys, there is as little evidence for GOD as there is for ATHEISM.

I heard a recently reformed atheist calling himself a POSSIBILLIONIST.

The answer to the things we don't know could be anything from: nothing, Jesus, alien ant farms, maybe our universe only existed for 1 second in some other universe!

As long as we ignore what little data we have, and choose to hate each other based on mythology and stereotyping, no amount of technology or education can protect us from our own self-destruction.

You mean the bit about earth being 6000 years old or something?

No way.

I think the problem is that people aren't looking into the original meanings of the words that were translated.

I believe that there were millions of years between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2.

Kinda what I was tapping at with the video I posted a few pages earlier and my point with using the left vs the right brain
