And wanted to say as a future probation/parole officer I am against the new law.
LEAP | Law Enforcement Against Prohibition

Here's a group with real experience in law enforcement. You should read what they have to say about the current drug laws. It might surprise you and you might learn something about your future career. Im a little nicer then just "kill yourself" tho you probably should anyway.

And another fun fact! More people each year overdose and die on prescription pain pills then heroin or cocaine COMBINED. Pill based opiates are a schedule 2 drug and marijuana is schedule 1. Wtf is up with that? Has anyone ever died from marijuana? No. However mj doesn't have big pharma backing it up with deep pocketed lobbies in DC.

does this even make sense to you? At all? Im guessing no.

But since you asked, it does have some positive but also will probably have negatives. Alcohol while on probation or parole is illegal here, so im guessing weed will be also.

Yeah good guess on that one. haha

It sounds like you're right, that it won't be legal for people on probation.

My thing with legalization is this;

Prohibition of alcohol turned normal people into criminals and provided a money stream for dangerous criminals. Legalizing a harmless drug takes the money away from bad people, stops forcing normal people to do business with these bad people.

The negatives relating to MJ are the same negatives with cigarettes and alcohol, both legal substances in their own right.

While I may have my opinions on what is right for me in regards to using MJ, I don't like government forcing that opinion on other people.

Let me clarify;

The negatives that those opposed to MJ legalization claim are the same as those related to alcohol and cigarettes.

Only when you are on the wake and bake level 365 do people become dependent on marijuana. Otherwise the addictive qualities you admit to being totally ignorant about don't actually exist. Funny how that works.
