You really don't have anything do you? You're just a bag of air and NRA talking points.
I was going to respond differently, but I went to reread your initial post to me. I apologize if I misread, but most of my posts have been to counter this whole gun banning vs. the actual cause. I didn't read your beginning posts because I entered this thread in reply to a specific comment I saw. I see your point, knee jerk reactions aren't a proper answer and you are right, the root is what needs to be fixed. I focused on what I believe you saw as me ignoring these cause which isn't the case. I've made plenty of statements that banning a weapon isn't the solution, but finding a solution to the core is where we need to be. Hopefully that clarifies a bit and is taken better than the prick response I received.

Just read about that too... Why a single mom can and need to own an arsenal?
Especially having a kid with that kind of mental issues?

These types of threads generate posts almost faster than you can read them, and it's pretty easy to miss entire blocks.

I don't actually expect us to come up with the answer. We're snowboarders right? But I think it's important to at least think about the problem as something that needs a solution and in principle has a solution.

I think the problem is the general public and politicians don't think like this though. They want to all ban guns or fight for no gun bans, but no one wants to address why white males are shooting places up. Is it phychosis?, is it video games and media?, etc. What else can be done to prevent these atrocities other than knee-jerk arguing over guns? Are there systems that can be put in place to prevent firearms and other dangerous items from falling into the hands of mentally unstable? Can better security be installed in our schools?

I think that's what we all need to be asking. There is a much deeper issue running here than just guns.

I saw this thread and I think it was over 15 pages and not a day or so old. Hence not reading a lot of the beginning. Something struck me as a comment to respond to, turning into another sub topic lol.. Yup, we are all boarders and some of you fuckers are already out riding Weather won't drop below 50 here and I don't have any larger trips north until after the New Year

Don't most canadians have guns for hunting and sport at least the more rural areas.

I believe with all my heart that banning guns will not stop this type of senseless crime. The people that think of this, plan for this, could obtain a gun illegally.
There is no way to confiscate all the hand guns in America. So for discussion sake this is fine in reality it will never happen.
/\ very few Canucks have hunting rifles. From some quick research, roughly 5.4% of our population have a registered firearm.

Around the world there is a huge stereotype about Americans.....that a massive proportion of them are just plain stupid/unintelligent/simple. I think it has alot to do with the population size, but there is no denying that when us Canadians read American newspapers, watch American television or read American tabloids we just shake our head and have thoughts that would probably make most of you jump through the screen and tell us to fuck right off. I don't blame you. Patriotism is important. I remember watching a show where they interviewed dozens of teenage girls in Louisiana and they all agreed that they would not get pregnant if they just jumped up and down really quickly after intercourse. I cannot imagine hearing that coming from a Canadian teenager. I bet ya each of these girls could name the make of at least one handgun ie: Colt 45, glock, Saturday night special.......

NOW BRING IT ON! ACTUALLY, FUCK IT. LETS JUST HAVE NANCY PELOSI, JOHN BAEHNER AND HARRY REID FIGURE IT ALL OUT FOR YOU. REAL QUALITY FOLK.
Sry folks I cannot read 8 pages worth of essay's but I found a hilarious opinion on the first page that I could not let go.

Were you aware that Canada is also judged from an outside perspective by the rest of the world? I'm sure I could find you an example of a canadian teenager making a stupid comment - but what would that prove? That I can pick and choose ONE person to represent the mass number of people living in Canada?

You judge American's as a whole as being ignorant based on what you saw on a television new report? Wow, so I guess this makes all Canadians as dumb as you? (See what I did there?)

NOT TRUE!

In 1991, 15 years after Washington, D.C. banned handguns, researchers from the University of Maryland conducted a study to assess the impact of the ban. They tracked homicides and suicides in the district from 1968 to 1987 and found that homicides by firearm fell by 25 percent and suicides committed with firearms dropped by 23 percent. Murders and suicides committed by other means neither rose nor fellóin other words, people didnít use other methods to commit an act they already wanted to commit. And there was no similar reduction found in the adjacent metropolitan areas in Maryland and Virginia.
