Man, a lot of this is solid! Very intelligent from a lot of people on a lot of levels........some not so much.

I have not heard much about the CCW holder and the mall either, and I live only two states away. Hmmmmmm

Also, I hate to say, and I am not a right winger, but lets be honest, does anyone here REALLY believe the Govt would not lie to us to further an agenda? Cause that is just plain silly, they do it all the time. Cover ups happen, and promises are not kept......thats politics. No matter what party does it(and they both do) and that has become part of the problem for the people, sifting through the shit of what they say and what they will actually do. Same with guns.

As I have stated before, I own guns, I also have to say that if it came down to being forced to use one, I would. If my family and myself have a clear escape route......we are OUT!!!! Its not worth risking my family's safety to stay and defend a home. If that makes me a pussy coward, so be it. I would not put anybody in harms way for macho bravado.

ANY group will lie to further an agenda. Left wing, right wing, wing nut, eco nut, hazel nut...

The only people who I wonder about are the ones who believe that everyone ELSE is lying but that THEIR group is telling them the truth.

Remember the Fair Witness in Stranger In A Strange Land? That's the way to be.

Now, responding in this tone to Kaka is not going to "win" the argument. There was no reason for to become this angry because Kaka does not agree. He was being very civil in his disagreement and you blew a gasket. Just so you know, not everyone who feels differently about this issue has a "liberal agenda". I have many very fiscally conservative friends who are life long registered Republicans who hate guns and want them banned. You have been listening to Beck and Limbaugh way too much.

Besides, do you understand the legal ramifications of doing what you said you would do? This would be a clear case of excessive force in any court. Yes, I understand that Colorado has laws similar to Washington with regard to shooting someone if they are inside the premisis, but even so, you had damn well better better be able to prove in both a criminal and a civil trial that it was life threatening. An unarmed theif in your home does not allow you to shoot in the eyes of the law. Its people like you who end up serving a prison term for "defending your home".

Just food for though and don`t start that "whiny liberal' crap with me; you know me better......

Number one, you dont know what you are talking about. The "liberal media" as you call it here in Portland is praising this guy six ways to Sunday. You live in Colorado not Oregon so you don`t have a clue what we are or are not talking about.

Number two:

This is the shit that you read??? Did you read the comments from these Tea Party, Birther right wing freaks? Once again, this becomes the face of the American gun owner...just great!

Christ man! these are exactly the kinds of people none of us want having any guns. If this is the shit you buy into, you have zero credibility with us sane folks and this is why some of us are embarrased to be Americans. The rest of the world sees this shit and correctly thinks we are a nation of retards. Just saying......

I think the problem is that the mindset is a win/lose one. If MY group is telling me the truth but YOUR group is lying, then you're a fool. If the other way around, then I'M a fool. But if we could agree that they're all a bunch of lying fucktards, then we can disagree about things without anyone being a fool.

Good luck with that...

The point in this case was not the ownership... his mom bought those guns. Now we could discuss about why a mom needs a semi- auto MG.
The point is that in 20 years no one noticed that the guy was a psychopath.
Again, his mom's responsibility.

With a better and preventive HEALT CARE SYSTEM that could have been avoided.

Please tell me you did not just refer to a Semi-auto as a machine gun. I hope the mg part of that was refering to something else.

I agree with the health care part, it needs to be factored in.

As for why the mom NEEDS it, well, she was obviously cleared to own it when she bought it legally. Until it becomes illegal to buy something, who is to declare who needs what? I really like beer, I am legal to buy it, but I don't really NEED it. Well, some days I do.

The whole thing needs to be in the responsibity of ownership, no matter what we are talking about, cars boats planes, beer, guns.

Has anyone seen the videos about the protests in England about the Govt talking away more gun rights. Even the cops are on there saying don't let them do this. The cops are also saying that crimes with firearms have gone UP not down since they banned all handguns.

What does that tell you, if a society that has had this done to them is warning us?

No, it can't be only the owner responsibility. From the moment you enable someone to get something that can harm others you are responsible as well.
Especially when the "owner" or user, is mentally sick.

There need to be a logic between what you WANT and what you can GET. I want a stinger Missile, few land-mines and a chain gun. Should I be able to get them? You can get all the beer you want... If instead you want 5 boxes of C-4 I get suspicious. It depends on the product you want...and how dangerous for the rest of us is. Do you really need me telling you?
