My GF and I trapshoot about 10 times a year. Every second weekend or so in the summer. It's a great way to spend a day in Calgary. We drive down to a club south of the city, with an amazing view, chat with some of the old boys, shoot a couple rounds, then head home.

I've taken many non-gun people trapshooting with me and I think it's changed their perspective on what responsible gun ownership is all about.
I trap shoot often in the summer months. I have a few old WWII rifles that I don't shoot, an old lever action .22 my grandfather gave me before he passed, and two handguns. I have a carry permit, but I honestly never carry.

She stands too far back when she shoots! I don't know why so many people do that?!? Should be leaning forward into the gun to counter the kickback.

Here's me at the Calgary club...

A lot of people do it.. Then wonder why they lose their balance.

This was a group of us that went to a spot in MD. My Remington 870 is the green on on the rack. A friend of mine was on the line in this pic

Sweet! I used an 870 for a long time and still keep it as my spare gun. Picked up a used Browning Citori O/U this summer for trap and skeet. It's not nearly as nice as the $2500+ guns most of the guys use, but it's been a lot of fun so far for $1000!

Here's a pic of a person not standing right...

And here's an olympian trapshooter. She looks like she's reaching forward with her whole body!

For some reason I like the pump the best. O/U and semi's didn't make it enough of a challenge with having to cycle the round in time to get the second clay.. One day I'll pick up a nicer shotgun.

Yeah for me it was an accuracy thing. I actually preferred shooting an old Sears-Robuck single shot 12 gauge break action to the 870 because I was better with it (even though the 870 is a MUCH better gun)... So far with this Citori field gun I'm hitting a lot more than I ever have before. I think my best round so far is 18/25 birds! (which is actually horrible for those that don't shoot)

The only way I justified getting the 3rd shotgun is by selling my first rifle (a Tikka T3 22-250 w/scope and bipod) and my handgun (a SIG P226 .40)... I just find I have more fun shooting at a moving target than paper!
