Well if you read my first post about requiring everyone who purchases a gun to go through a mental health test 1st you wouldn't have made yourself look like a dumbass...but you did. Congrats!

Thank you though as you just made me realize we need an IQ test before issuing guns as well to keep them away from YOU people.

Oh but I guess I should add that I wasn't talking about you Canadians not liking the US. I know you fuckers love it because you flock to my city and buy all our property up.

Although I want to make clear to you other northerners that almost every Canuck I have met has been extremely nice and pleasant....some pretty hot women too.

Luckily for the rest of your Country, you don't speak for them. Also, I guarantee you wouldn't feel so big and tough without the Country you hate lingering right below you. Arsenalfan many of us truly wish our military wasn't used as a World Police force. It hurts our image, the HONOR that should be bestowed upon a veteran or active duty member.
We shouldn't be involved in the worlds affairs as we are. The powers that be and crap UN use us as a police force for the world so you and I agree somewhat I believe. I would not have stated it as you did but I think I can side with your premise.

We will and should always protect our citizens abroad and our countries best interests, which includes protecting our allies. But our military is often used for politic gains instead.

This. We do way too much meddling in foreign affairs. That's where most of the American resentment abroad comes from. We played a large role in creating the clusterfuck that is currently the Middle East. Our constant defense of Israel and the support of dictators that will keep that oil flowing being the primary issues.

I have never stated I condone this type of crime and I am truly saddened for everyone involved. Why someone one would kill randomly let alone small defenseless children I can not begin to understand I just don't feel it is a gun issue or the fault of the gun

Is it a safe statement that you just don't like guns, which I am fine with and it is an honorable stance for you. It just doesn't work for me.

This is about a human beings actions not the method of his actions. Had guns not been available who knows the action he would have taken. It could have taken more lives but I honestly believe with the gun he did more damage. I'm won't pretend otherwise.

I never said I didnt like guns (read my first post). I said hand guns, and guns designed to discharge huge amounts of damage in a short time are useless and do more harm then good. Would you rather a crazy killer have access to a concealable fire arm, or not? I prefer not and polices that allow it im against. Not just against, but amazed at how fucking stupid they are, and people who fall back on the "yea but its my right" bullshit. Yes its your current right, but it needs to taken away from you. Kicking and screaming if need be. Not all guns, just ones not design to hunt. i.e. hand guns, assault rifles etc.

The problem with that "right" is that you, and every other american (aside from military personal) hasn't earned that right. Being born american and passing some simple tests shouldn't allow you to carry a semi automatic assault riffle, or hand gun. Every mass killing at schools, malls etc are all done with hand guns, and assault rifles.

Its true ill never change your mind, and you will never change mine. All i know is I feel safer living in a society where people cant carry guns around for the sake of carrying them, assault rifles cant be obtained and hand guns are near impossible with huge restrictions.

Has being able to own all those guns really made your life and country better?

Dont get me wrong. I love America, and there is a lot more good then bad. BUt the gun thing needs to change.

I believe my statement and you are correct that our military has been used for political gains, oil, money, power struggles.

Political diplomacy has been going on all over the world in one form or another since the age of man. Tribe battles, countries battles, resource battles.

I don't want to wonder off the original post though as I feel strongly about it and troubled in how guns are used to senselessly take lives and then blame our right to own "specific" guns.

I agree, but it's not like we are the only ones doing it. We are just the face of it. The entire U.N. acts with us, but they only commit small amounts and stay hidden because they don't want a part in it. So there we are doing everything for everyone else and then there they are scolding us? I wish we would just pull out so people would see how quickly things would go to shit. Remember the late 19th and early 20th century? We tried leaving your world alone and you managed to create two world wars, genocide left and right, terrorists, and radicals with war heads. Not saying it shouldn't be regulated, but we shouldn't be the main player. We also shouldn't get shit for protecting your sorry ass.
