No, I have an irritation problem. It's called "clubmyke".

Question 2 - so you think the universe with all its incredible intricacies was just a random series of events ?
Yes. Now, please post evidence - any evidence -- to support your opinion that a deity or deities exist.

You call man smart. Bats use sonar and dolphins use echolocation. Even hammerheads can sense disruptions in magnetic fields. Humans can do none of these things. What makes us better than these animals? We are just adapted to our environment in a different way.

As for opposable thumbs and being able to make tools....well, monkeys have opposable thumbs and even some birds can form crude tools. I see no difference for man here other than we have focused our evolutionary efforts in these areas.

And as for precision in the universe, I don't know where you are looking. There is no order to things. Find some semblance of order for me in our universe and we can discuss it.

I think you're seeing what you want to see, personally.

the nice thing about having it here is that it doesn't bleed into other threads. If you've ever been on usenet where some twit posts a creationist (or whatever) rant on a networking ng, you'll know what I mean. As worked up as people get sometimes here, at least everyone's courteous enough to keep it where it belongs.

Clubmyke is just getting his trolling jollies, he will never actually substantiate anything he postulates because he knows like every other religious person that there is no argument for a deity to exist. I have yet to see any believer actually try to have a discussion about the topic because it's a no win situation for them. To an Atheist, anything substantial would just provide more food for thought about how the universe works, to a believer or person of faith it would throw their entire belief system into the toilet and their world would come crashing down.

Extra-dimensional beings would be really interesting, suddenly coming to the realization that Santa isn't real would only rob them of their innocence.

I would bet my house on the fact Myke will never provide anything of basis whatsoever other than the occasional troll to keep this thread going.

You're right, and it's my fault...I generally stay away from religion. BUT I stopped posting on a climbing forum for the same reason....every other thread was about religion or lack thereof..or why...WHY people is so obsessed about religion in USA? Nowere else people feels is their duty to proselitize...on a snowboard forum!

Anyway,..EJECT!

Religion is like ice, don't fight it, ride over it fast.

I've seen theists occasionally actually try to defend their POV, but the entire argument is always based on some "self-evident truth" that is neither, rather being an unsupported assumption that the whole chain of reasoning is built from. Usually some variation on "argument from disbelief". Occasionally I've seen something along the lines of "I know he exists because of my belief" but even most theists would be embarrassed to use that one.

I know what you mean. I think if someone tried to carry either the thread or the animosity out of the Political Discussion group then the moderators would slap them down hard. One of the reasons that this forum is so active is that everyone feels pretty comfortable here, and I'd hate to see that change.
