as eloquent as ever mr Wolf. kudos.
but to emphasise another aspect of this use of slang language; one might also consider context.
a limey no more gorges themselves on citrus fruit, any more than a seppo is full of shit, but those deemed camel jockies or sand monkies, can be said to dwell in such locations and so slander can be enforced thru a sense of prejudice which is otherwise removed due to sheer nonsense.
also, any reference i made of a seppo (just as an example, i am not on the defenisve here) was made to the seppo in question. if i needed to pull my head in because of this, the recipient of the slang was at least there to tell me to do as much. brown baggers etc who were being regarded were not present and thus had no chance to complain or even address the slur.
in addition, i might call a lottery winning friend a 'lucky bastard' but i would never think to call an unknown passer by the same term. to me, the use of seppo, whilst in the minds of strangers might be offensive, was used for those reservedly called friends, who i had hoped knew me well enuff and with adequate affection, that no such offense would ever be taken.
of course the colourful terms of MPD do not cause me offence, but i am not incapable of considering them as they are, in the context in which they are presented.
incidentally, i am racist. i cannot stand the spanish (note, i refer to those from spain, not those who speak spanish)
