my missus is proper miffed by the prospect of halving her annual leave allowance.... especially as she will want to visit la familia!

of course i try to explain, that we wouldn't need half as much vacation time anyways, seeing as the hills can be visited per weekend, as opposed to a week or two per year.

dedicate all of the holiday entitlement to visiting the old country! in the meantime... WOOT FOR THE WEEKEND!

she's not yet impressed! blargh!

It would be hard going from 4 or 6 weeks of vaca days, to only 2, and in many cases 1 week. A few of my buddies don't even get a week!! They're workin' us to the BONE over here!!

heh, you're underestimating the size of the adjustment facing her. I mean, she's French and by default.. they're lazy. any time they're prodded to do a bit of real work they go on strike demanding better pay / conditions!

^^^She works hard though, I'll give her that. Long hours, works late, etc... I don't see her being that lazy, but she doesn't like to head back to Paris a lot, and not having much time probably sucks. Can't say much for the rest of France, though. But I can say I'd love to have their time off plan.

ah, what I said was tongue in cheek really. I haven't bashed the French in a while and your post offered some ammo, haha.
