Nice!

After riding the park all day, I and a friend did this trip again today up to the Bergshrund above Crater Rock. It was a fantastic day of riding and we stayed up there until 6:30 PM.

What`s up with you Portland guys? Just because it`s now summer, does not mean you put your boards away...the snow is great up here....

I think the wife and I are going up in the next day or two to take advantage of the extension on the spring pass.

My husband and I are heading up tomorrow. Is the snow still really slushy and slow?

Everyone we know thinks we're nuts for heading up to the snow when it's close to 90 degrees in the valley. :P

We went up last weekend and were really surprised how good it was up on magic mile. don't get me wrong it was thick and slow but not nearly as wet as I expected it to be. My daughter and I went on saturday to give it a try and were so plesently surprised that we convinced the wife and son to go up with us on sunday.

I'll be up there tomorrow. Hopefully, will get at least four more days in before the pass expires. An then it will be just hard, cold cash for three or four trips in the summer. But I could just be addicted and have to have more.

Most people here have no clue what the mountain environment is like. Sure it is 90 here, but up there it will be 60 and likely breezy. It is a different world. As for the snow, that sticky phenomenon is going away. What happens is in the spring, the fresh snow still is fine, but very wet and that creates the stickiness. Now the snow is turning into true corn snow and the crystals are like little round ball bearings. Basically small ice balls. It gets much faster when this happens.

I have found that as summer progresses, that sticky sensation really lessens and almost goes away. I ride all summer long and it is good up there even when it is hot here.

We are heading up today. I really want to see what corn snow is all about since this is still my first season! The chick I am going with asked about conditions, I mentioned corn snow and she got all excited. So this should be fun!

Does timberline extending their season ONLY extend to those that purchased season passes? Or can i go up there and get day passes still?
