Sunday was the end to a great season on the Fusion Pass. Had hit up Timberline for three hours on Saturday and then from 9:00 AM to past closing on Sunday. Will still be up there a few times this summer and will take advantage of the one time 1/2 price summer lift ticket for pass holders. You need to show them your pass so do not toss it.
Kept a eye out for a pack of wolves lead by Snowolf himself but did not see them. At closing the weather seem stable as the occasional fog bank had disappeared. Headed up from the top of Palmer at 2:00 PM hand carrying the board as I did not get back down to pickup my pack. It seems like hiking up the rocky spline was easier than hiking in the snow a few weeks. Probably got up to 9,100' after about a hour of walking and resting. I can tell you the pacemaker was not kicking in at all because the heart was beating fast enough!
The Zig Zag glacier was empty after two snowboarders and a skier went pass. Sat and enjoyed the view, took a few pictures and listen for the rock fall that was occurring near the bottom end of Castle Crags.
Here's some of the pictures
