Default Breckenridge 2014

I'm planning on going to Breck in late March. This will be my second trip to Colorado. I went to Aspen last year with friends and had a blast. I'm looking for lodging and restaurant suggestions. The things I really liked about Aspen is that we parked the car and walked to everywhere we wanted to go. Is this possible at Breck? What runs to hit? I prefer blue runs.

Seeing as the whole down town is about 4 blocks long and 3 streets wide plus there's a free bus system I wouldn't worry about driving around.

When it comes to restaurants the best thing to do is walk down main street and read the menu's outside to see if it's something you like. There's everything from pub food to 100 dollar dinners depending on what you want. In this town if a place sucked it more than likely wouldn't be here after a season or two.

Lodging it all depends on what you're looking for and how much you're willing to spend. If you're balling out just stay at 1 Ski Hill place, free shuttle into town, walk right on to the slopes, and the pool/hot tub is sick.

Realistically 80% of the mountain is a "blue" run. Get on a chair, go up, look at the trail, ride down.

Seeing as our crew is really simple, Downstairs at Eric's has some decent pizza and food. Stay the hell away from the big corp. restaurants like Bubba Gump's and the like. They blow.

As for lodging, have you ever tried VRBO.com? You can rent private condos and houses directly through the owner(s), or through a hired management company. We've used this for several seasons and have never been disappointed with any property based on it's description.

Have a great time.

Beaver and Vail in Feb.

I've been going to breck in March for years now and it's always been amazing. Snows a ton and usually is not blistering cold. March is my favorite trip to breck. It's usually always better than January. But this January is looking to be pretty damn good.

April 20th or there abouts is closing. March has the most snowfall, most sunny days, most dumb drunk college kids, and longer days in it.

They're busy, but if you get out early and head to the upper lifts you should be ok.
