My friend gave us the key to their Killington condo. Super gratitude for this amazing op. We were located 2 miles from Ramshead Lodge. It was my first spring snowboard session. This was my first BIG mountain as a snowboarder. I had previously boarded 8 mountains this year, all relatively small.
Killington has many pluses; 5 stars for tissues throughout...at the lifts, in the loos..seriously, a great convenience PLUS water coolers all over. Complicated mountain, took us time to figure out how to connect to the mountains. It was not a super user friendly mountain for connecting, in my experience. There was definitely some walking to get from lift to lift. Lift staff friendly, cool people on the mountain and a mogul competition made it fun for spectators.
Spring snowboarding was crazy good, crazy challenging. I was on mostly blues. Mashed potato like moguls all over..very challenging for me but fun. Neff Land was a fun park and my boyfriend loved The Stash. I had an easy time in the park cruising, watching him and the other park riders play but getting out was hard as the blues were pure moguls (soft stuff but a challenge for me).
Oh, the lifts are old mostly and despite spring conditions, Ramshead and Snowshead lifts were damn cold and windy. The K1 Gondola was nice. Ours reeked liked doobie..haaaaaa..and, it wasn't us !! We rode one detachable quad, the rest old school. We loved parking at Ramshead, starting there and working our way to Bear Mt. and back. We head back next weekend for the 65+ temps and our final sesh until next season.
In the end, I decided I prefer smaller mountains but would love to try Sunday River for my big mountain experiencel
