Is there a go to resource you guys use to find out what mountain to plan a trip too?

I'm from CA so mostly spend time in Tahoe but have had a sick time on trips to Vail & Keystone in CO the past couple years. I'm thinking about checking out Utah or maybe even Whistler this year...

I know there are threads with info on this (not looking for an explanation here). I build web product for a living and am thinking how awesome it'd be to have a good resource for researching new mountains and finding out what are good areas to hit on them when you get there! Besides just forum discussion that is :)

OnTheSnow

They have a historical snow data section of different moutains and resorts. Good reference IMO.
Yeah it seems like they are the main site in the space and they definitely have a ton of useful info! But the whole thing is so web 1.0 :p and the reports / reviews are kind of thin...

I want to do something with good user generated content / recommendations and a social element. I've been working on a prototype maybe will post here at some point if folks are interested :D

For me the go-to guide is Powderhounds.com This is where I start putting together any trip whether its Japan, North America or Europe. Good information for various levels of riders along with accommodation and nightlife/dining tips.

worldsnowboardguide.com] is also a good starting point but generally I find that powderhounds has more info that interests me and my group.

Would be awesome if you could produce a new site that combined what the sites above cover, plus easy to access snow history, trail maps and user generated comments.
