Default The Canyons Death wish

on top of 9990 lift at the Canyons. Climbed up to the very peak and then wondered what have i gotten myself into:

so i decided to go there:

at the bottom of the bowl, i look at my achievement:

this was at the bottom of the out of bounds area. I reached some tree runs and was searching for a way to get back into the resort

Death wish is right! J/k man, in all seriousness I am glad it went without a problem. If you don't know, you don't know. For reference I believe it was the lookers right side that went and killed that poor guy.

BC riding is fun, the most fun imo. It's just one of those get educated things so you have the tools to make the right decisions and not end up dead is all. Pretty simple stuff actually, but no matter how many times you ride a slope you won't learn it that way.

Fun looking spot for sure.

looking right is actually inbounds ... well lemme clarify .. its a bowl over in bound territory so it still gets avy bombed for safety .. I remember the break a few years back that you are referring too. Just one of those freak things where a patrolled slope broke anyways. Ive had some AMAZING runs on that right hand slope especially the one convex roller on the far left of that particular face.

o and just to show how low our totals are this year .. those exposed rocks in the upper right are usually totally covered and none of those small scrub trees are usually exposed

really? dammnn. from just looking at the pics, u would think it was nothing but fluff. But it wasnt. when i was on top scoping out my line of descent, i told myself "any line would be great, look at all that pow" as soon as i dropped in, my board was welcomed by hard stashes and i couldnt really float my way down.

looks can be deceiving

Between Poaching and Sunbaking, the fluff won't last long, for sure! I hope you waited till later in the day to allow the sun to soften it up a little.

that's a real fun bowl. I have a season pass at canyons and have ridden through that out of bounds area many times. the area that I believe you are referring to that has a huge avy reputation and has killed people is square top. and that is lookers right. just past the in bounds trails past the ropes after the traverse. It's a death wish for sure . but people ride it often none the less.
