Default NYC: Emilio's trips cancelled for Wednesday, Feb. 2nd

Which sucks, because I already took the day off of work hoping to get up there on Wednesday for the snow.

Any other ideas as to how a Manhattanite like myself might make it up to the Catskills without a car on Wednesday? Supposed to be kinda icy/sloppy down here, but nice and fluffy up there.

Thanks in advance.

You should check out Homage. They say they've never canceled their bus trips. Btw the trip is to Hunter.

thanks man. i also found that a skate shop called Blades runs trips on Wednesdays, leaving from Union Square and the UWS. i'm going to monitor both trips tomorrow while the weather develops.

what a crazy season!

Just out of interest, why did they cancel the trip?

What I was told over the phone is that they are concerned about icy driving conditions. I guess that is fair, but it's also kinda lame. A snow/rain wintry mix down here usually means the Catskills get dumped on (forecast is for like 14+ inches up there).

I am not that surprised. The weather is supposed to be pretty brutal. Thursday may be a better shot and I am sure there will still be plenty of stashes to be had.

nice to see a fellow Grateful Dead fan on the forum.

i know you, rider.

looks like the trip to Windham is going to happen. called up Blades and they connected me to the tour group operator, who took the call while sitting on a lift at Hunter.

he said (and i quote) "we ain't cancellin' sh*t. get on that. it's gonna be awesome."

sold.

You don't want to die in a bus crash on the way to the mountain.

Its better to die on a gnarly crash while snowboarding.
