Day three (one was a half day) in the books. So far I have about 50k vertical in and am shooting for 100k. So far I have hit all areas of the mountain, with some choice trails left on the checklist (Tower Three, Paintbrush, Alta Chutes). Hiked the Headwall twice, once up the White Spider behind the Gondy and once via Pepi's Bench by Tensleep Bowl. Came down Moccasin and Beartooth. Also hit North Hoback today. Chalky, but bumps were somewhat soft.

I am here visiting a buddy from home, and his local knowledge has been invaluable so far. Keeping me out of real danger, which I need. Don't want to get cliffed out cuz I take a wrong turn! Corbet's has a "goat path" leading into it, so I might be up for that as well since there isn't a 15 foot drop. Also looking into Meet Your Maker.

Met up with kysnowboarder on Saturday for a handful of runs. Don't let him fool ya...he can ride. Just needs some confidence in the steeps, which takes time. I suggested he stay a little more on his front foot while in the moguls so he has better leverage to whip the back leg around to make the turns. If that's incorrect, please let me know.

Any suggestions you have for terrain I should check out, I am all ears! Thanks!

I rode Corbets a couple of weeks ago when in JH. Goat path makes it doable, but still sketchy. I wasn't super graceful, but at least I can say I did Corbets and didn't eat shit. After the goat path, it was pretty straight forward. Steep but fun.

I was only there for 2 days though. First day was warm, second day was snowing - 6" fresh, with 12" in windblown area, but man was it windy and visibility was zero up top off the tram. I wish I would have had the chance to hike (have all my gear), but without "local knowledge" as you said, it's real hard to venture out, not knowing where to really go. But I'll be back there. Loved it - and it sure lives up to it's name.

Alta Chutes definitely fun with some fresh snow, as were Broadway/Downhill. A lot of the stuff off Sublette chair was good that day. Bivouac was good too. Lot of good trees in that general area. I'll have to try the Headwall and some BC out of gates stuff (Cody Bowl, Powder 8, etc) next time I go. I'll get a guide if I have to.

Definitely check out each of the hobacks. Make sure you're not too tired when you start them, because they will knock the shit out of you.

One of my favorite runs there is: Sublette chair / Tensleep / Cirque or Expert Chutes / Amphitheater. All the Moran stuff is really fun if you have a deep powder day.

Today was perfect. Bluebird, about 30 degrees, and just about everything, particularly South facing, was nice and soft. Hit Paintbrush, Central Chute, Wall World, Bernie's Bowl, Cheyenne Bowl, a little chute off Laramie Bowl called Charles Barkley, Dog Face and another North Hoback run. Forgot the mating piece for my GoPro, so I skipped Corbet's and Tower Three until tomorrow.

Photos and video at some point when I get back home. For now, you all will just have to take my word for it! Haha.

My roommate and 2 of my friends are out at JHMR this week. If you see any people from Georgia huffing and puffing as they hike up headwall, then that is probably them.

I would have like to go, but he tends to schedule trips that are most inconvenient for people who work regular office hours.

My crew is going to Jackson in a couple of weeks. Question (probably stupid noob question), if you ride the Gondola up is there another trail down besides corbets coulier? Don't laugh i'm 40 :) I really want to go up and appreciate the view more than I want to challenge corbets.

KYSnowboarder - Hey there, we live in Evansville and spent most weekends at Paoli Peaks. We did go over to Perfect North once this winter. We really liked PN except the lift lines were REALLY long, 30 minutes + the day we were there. This will be our 2nd trip out west. We went to Eldora in Colorado last year. I didn't have the skills to enjoy it really. But this year I think i'll be able to enjoy Jackson Hole
