Spring Break at Sunday River - Snowboarding Forum

So yeah, my brother's spring break happened to land directly on the time when he got a $35,000 loan from the bank with like no interest. so he decided that he was going to rent a cabin for a week that's about 3 minutes from Sunday River. We just got here, and this place is totally baller. We just went out and had a cigar break outside the cabin, and we're going to head out to the slopes first thing tomorrow.

wifi, satellite tv, laundry machines, full kitchen, etc. too bad we're not going to spend much time here :P

Awesome man, have fun! Let me know what the conditions are like, I'm like an hour away and was thinking of heading up midweek. Be interesting to hear after all the damn rain this week.

conditions today were killer. not a whole lot of nice powder, but there isn't very much ice at all, and it's covered by enough snow to get a good grip.

tally for today: 1 messed up wrist, 1 broken buckle. :/

but damn, this is my first (real) mountain and i officially love this sport 3x more.

sorry, no pics from today... we forgot all our phones and the camera in the car. never went back until the end.

so, turns out that sunday river closes at 4 on sun-thursday. we just got half-day tickets with $15 off because of our frequent skier cards. my cousin, travis, came up too. he's the guy in the first picture, using my brother's old board with some flows. blegh. :P

right before we went out to the slopes, we went to a board shop that was selling 50% off boards and bindings. my brother got himself a new park board and me some brand new Rome SDS 390's, all for like $250. fucking amazing.

i also attached a pic of my wrist that got fucked up yesterday. looks worse than it is.

also got a nice sized bruise on my knee. no idea how it got there, lol.
