Conditions were generally nice spring corn, with a hint of stickiness on Saturday, then just a bit of slushiness on Sunday. Temps in the 50s with a mix of clouds and sun. Just fantastic really. A big "thank you" to Mysticfalcon for showing us around and especially for introducing us to our first real glades! Here is a video from the weekend.

Nice ridding with you. always fun to show a newbie around the woods.
Couple pieces of advice in the woods
- Look at the spaces between the trees. you look at the tree and you lock onto it and go straight for it till you bail right at the base of it.
- Dont touch the trees with your hands. Dont try to grab onto them unless stopped. Its a bad habit to get into because when you get a little better and a little faster you can really hurt yourself.

Nice vid. Man, I bit my lip @ 5:00, that looked like it could have been painful if you didn't get your board out in front of you to take the blow. Nice riding though, I need to try glades sometime.

Thanks for the advice! I'm actually familiar with target fixation from riding motorcycles. I was intending to go to the right of that tree, between it and the one just to my right before it, but I second-guessed my ability to make the turn at the last second and opted to go left (at which point fixation may have been a major factor), and I couldn't pull off the turn in time. I hadn't thought about the risk of grabbing trees at speed, I'll have to work on that.

Nice pics! I already can't wait to get back to Jay, I'm bummed the season is nearly over.

Thanks! Yeah, that was probably a bit too much speed for my ability in that situation. I definitely got lucky. Glades are a blast, I already can't wait to try more!

Yes, that's my oldest son. He's also the one wearing the camera for the park run at the end. We started riding at the same time so I hate to admit he outrides me in the park (especially jumps), and now glades too.
