Santa fe? Awesome my friend, im sure it will be sick. However... Taos is where it's at! We just got 16 inches and its still dumping on the mountain(im watching the web cam). Come ride some STEEP.
. Either way you will enjoy your self. Have fun, ride safe brother.

ST, you do any backcountry around Taos? Looking for some info on splitboard tours in the area. I know there is some decent stuff. It's starting to look like my snowboarding plans might be revolving around Silverton, Wolf Creek, and New Mexico for a bit this season...

I just got back from riding Taos all day. 18" more fresh pow, untouched(in some places it was 2+ feet) from this last storm. The mountain was closed from monday until this thursay and its been dumping since mon. night. Got there early for first chair- rode some of the best shit I have ridden in a while. There was hardly anybody there because it was a thursday(i might have played hookie from work), It was extremely deep everywhere, my k2 turbo dream floated effortlessly. We hiked the ridge several times, tore up some of the chutes in the west basin. Rode through some tree runs on the highline ridge. Can't wait for kachina(the main peak around here) to open so I can hike it. I gapped off this cornice over a rock, unfortunately my brother took my same line without enough speed an blew up his board. He was riding a 2010 flow Era, and i must say that board had held up to some shit. That was a downside, but it was so powdery he rode the rest of the day on the blown up board.
From 9:00 am first chair until 4:00 pm I rode nothing but perfect pow lines. Taos is so epic right now guys, it could make me cry. ![]() I think i may have a shitty iphone picture or two from one of the hikes, but we were mostly hard charging all day not thinking about such things. |

Got back last night from Santa fe, rode all day thursday i woulda drove to tao if i had an extra day but as it is im tired of driving, also took a bad fall at the end of the day caught my edge and flipped a few times then faceplanted im glad that the snow was hella soft. Sante fe was awesome, it was sunny warm and that snow was still powdery soft had one of my best days in a long time. Northern New Mexico is where its at, i'm gonna make another trip out that way 2nd week of january when things slow down at work i cant wait. Glad the rest of you had a blast at your mountains this week nothing like a day on the mountain.
