So we finally got the boards back.
We had checked in well ahead of time, so that wasn't it. Just some good old mix of incompetence and i-don't-give-shit-ism.
I called delta this morning and ended up talking to some lady with a serious attitude problem who argued the boards weren't there while their web site claimed they had been send on the first morning flight. She ended up putting me on hold and never came back.
I called back and talked to a dude who found our boards unattended on the belt after they had been sitting there for a few hours.
The boards were then given to a courier who managed to deliver them to the wrong fucking hotel, but couldn't tell us which one. Wtf.
We figured they were probably at the larger hotel in the main base. So we went there, talked to a very friendly and helpful manager and eventually found the bags. So in the end it worked out, but we wasted a full day and we would have never gotten our stuff back if we hadn't spent the better part of the day harassing delta.
Bottom line: the people at Stowe were very nice and helpful. Delta: incompetent morons.
