Went up to Nagano for this trip and in those 3 days we had about 150cm of fresh snow again.
Been working on my form and trying to get down unweighting working. Certainly got a feel for it in these 3 days but its far from perfected yet. It really helps in the steep tree lines (40 degrees) which we have at Nozawa. There are also lots of mellow places to play in the trees as you can see from the pics. Nozawa has some of the best slackcountry and tree runs in Honshu (main island) IMO. There are also so many groomers you have just about everything. It was used in the Olympics and they have a bunch of very steep runs. Only a little park that is nothing special but there are plenty of natural features if you know where to look. This trip I managed to get my first proper method air grabs down of natural features. Very stoked with that. No pics of those or videos of me because by riding partner was pretty much at full stretch just keeping up and getting through the trees safely. All in all it was a great trip. If you ever find yourself here check out the free hot springs which are scattered throughout the town. They are heavenly after a hard days boarding. The Italian restaurant (pasta pasta) is pretty damn good. There are also a bunch of noodle places (soba and ramen) all of which are good. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

It's finally looking like it! It's starting to turn around for everyone on the west beginning tonight, and hopefully continue.
