Just got back from KH and Revy on Thursday. Very good conditions with a great pow day for our last day. All the locals were calling in sick.
They've been getting hammered since I left so you're looking at some epic stuff. Enjoy! |

Trip was fantastic (sorry for no mid week post or post yet), been swamped getting back to work life.
in short. a high pressure system sat over much of BC and west early last week resulting southern aspects at RMR being sun drenched during the days and freezing back up at night. This made for horrible conditions if you were looking to play in the trees on the front of the mountain or anywhere off piste. The groomers were fine and fast, but that gets tired quickly. The back side of the mountain (north and greely bowls), weren't in much better shape either. Mostly tracked out with very little good snow left although it was drier and not as crusty back there. The only "pow" to be found was in the back 40 glades, decent riding but short lived as we tracked that out over the course of a day and a bit. leaving RMR midweek we headed to K3 catskiing. They're located about 50km west of Revy. This was where we found REALLY good snow from the storms the week prior. Foot penetration was 2ft minimum and there was a solid base between 6 to 8ft in depth. We only rode northern aspects of the ranges they have available and man was it sweet! Light dry powder at high elevations with softer and a tad heavier stuff lower in the valleys. Our guide was an ace and gave us untracked runs almost every go round. i'll try and find some time to post up pics and descriptions later this week |
