I know I shouldn't really be posting here looking for a romantic resort especially since I have not even been out riding yet. But my girlfriend on the other hand is very experienced and has been snowboarding for a few years.

She has been to all the mountain surrounding Alberta Canada, and nothing seems to surprise her any more. I don't wish to spend an enormous amount of money because I do plan on proposing to her in the summer and wish to save most of my money on the ring. But I don't want to cheap out because it is our vacation together.

So my question would be are there any nice resorts outside of the Alberta / BC area that are reasonable in price and is a nice resort.

I've heard good things about Whitefish, Montana... How far outside AB/BC do you want to go? Where are you located now?

Hard to say which resort is most romantic. I'd go for the boarding and the romance will naturally follow, but that's just me.

Stay at the Fairmont in Lake Louise. That will get you a root.

Yea I second Lake Luise or banft(sp?)

After that I say maybe Park City, 3 resorts to choose from(Sundance, PCMR and the Canyons), free shuttle(take you anywhere in in PC) and amazingly beautiful\lit up main street, TONs of great bars and restaurants and 4-5 star hotels if your into that.

otoh...does this mean that you haven't never boarded and if so...what makes you think she will say yes

btw...cheap and romantic are not necessairly mutually exclusive

and...vacations, especially challenging ones are a great relationship test
