Default Help with Colorado trip

Hi,
My name is Gonzalo and im from Chile SA.
This summer (your winter) im planing to go for snow trip to NA. I have been searching places from whistler to jackson but finally the cheaper price that i found was in VAIL with the Epic Pass. What i understand about the epic pass is that you can go to several ski resorts only showing your pass, im ok? for $699.

If thats ok, i would like to know information about Vail Village, Avon, or beaver creek... which place is better for finding a place to stay? i mean in proximity to lifts or if you have to take a bus to get to the resort etc.
Also which place is better for party because i dont like the idea of arriving there and finding that im far away of everything and there are partys or places for having fun in another point.

I think thats all, i will be very grateful if someone can guide me.

Thank you,

Gonzalo

*sorry about my english, its not my first language.

If you want to party and be close to the lifts, stay at vail village. Or stay at Breckenridge.

I would also reccomend going to Whistler. It is amazing

Jackson Hole is also a good choice.

Looks like you have some of the major destination resorts included here.

How many days are you going to be boarding? the epic pass might not be worth it. If you get the regular 3-4 day pass for vail, you can also ride beaver creek and breck...or any combo of those

Default no snow here bro

Don't come to Colorado unless you hate snow. We don't have any. For the last year or in the future forecast.

Or bring some, that would be cool.

looks like a weak el nino year means dry weather for colorado... that blows. hopefully vail could man-make a 300" base.

We have actually had some great El Nino years, but it seems to be hit or miss. La Nina is usually money, but we all know what happened last year...

The season is not a wash yet, but it's getting awfully damn close. The moisture needs to turn on for a few weeks and it just doesn't look like it's going to happen. In general, I have to agree with the advice to go elsewhere. Tahoe is looking good so far this year. The Epic pass works at several resorts out there and if Colorado got snow, you could always road trip and go to the resorts on the pass here.

Gonzalo,

Good work trying to research. No problem with your English. The Epic pass will get you access to a number of resorts......in Colorado: Breckenridge, Keystone, Vail, Beaver Creek, and (I believe Arapahoe Basin) In California: Heavenly, Northstar, Kirkwood.

If you want cheap and a couple of resorts, you'll want to do Lake Tahoe. Fly into Reno, catch a shuttle from the airport and stay in South Lake Tahoe, ride Heavenly and catch an occasional day-shuttle to Kirkwood or Northstay. South Lake Tahoe is a great party and he visual beauty of this area is pretty spectacular.

That being said, Colorado is also gorgeous. If you're focused on Colorado, the resorts aren't too easily accessible. There are 5 epic pass resorts in the area, but they can be up to 50 minutes from one to the other...(Which is also how far it is from South Lake Tahoe to Kirkwood or Northstar) There are also shuttles that will take you from one to the other. I would suggest staying in Breckenridge....that's the main party town. Vail has some parties, but not quite like Breckenridge. Avon......I can't say that thats much of a party town. There will be bars, but if you want Ski and nightlife then you'll want either Breckenridge or South Lake Tahoe in CA.

IF you have the balls and the money, spend some time in Tahoe, then fly into Colorado, then fly back to South America.

really thanks for the answers...
Finally i decided to kick the trip for the next season because the plane ticket was very expensive at these dates (we are starting summer and companies blow the prices to death).
So the plan is to ride here in my winter (i already got the season pass) and then whith more time planing the NA trip (some years ago i went to tremblant but the sown quality really disapoint me)

Ok thats all, thank you very much and if you have any doubts about Chilean resorts please let me now, maybe i can help you.

Good luck with the season!

Friggin Tatas! Sometimes they're all sorts of fun! Other times they make you think they're interested....then, after giving them some attention and effort, they just bail. Such is life!
