12-15 We went to the Dew tour, again got there late. I guess it's one of those things I had to see, would I skip a day of riding to do it again...probably not. We stood in the lift line forever, then had to hike to the half pipe, got to see SW's and Vitto's last run, couldn't really see shit from where we were.
On the gondola Me and mom ![]() It IS Colorado after all hehe ![]() SW ![]() A Yeti ![]() random pics ![]() ![]() The chick that got 3rd ![]() ![]()

The damages as of Mon. morning lol
![]() I have a bunch more pics but just more of the same for the most part. We were supposed to leave on the 19th but I-80 going through Ne. was closed so we extended our vaca till the 21st. Here's my thoughts on this trip. Arapahoe Basin I love this place, I've always considered this a great training ground for anything. When they have enough snow there is a little of everything, from an excellent learning center, great instructors to being able to hike chutes all inbounds. The staff is the most friendly out of all the places I've been in Summit (except maybe Loveland, bout the same vibe) If you are looking for a huge park, or commercialized resort experience then this is not the place for you. If you want a down home chill atmosphere, great service, and an all around most bang for your buck, check out A-basin. Quote form Alan (A-Basin CEO) I love it here, and not because I work here, I work here because I love it here. that attitude shows through the whole staff. This year I feel like I advanced a little beyond intermediate, did some stuff that forced me to up my game considerably. On Sun. I went to the top of Lewanee in almost zero visibility, on the lift up I was thinking WTF am I doing. I rode by instinct most of the way down, did a couple 10-15' drops and landed 'em..err at least rode 'em out lol. By Wed I was doing those same drops on purpose and having fun with it. Downtown Breck It was fun to get out and bar hop, not sure where we went but had a good time. Vaguely remember my brother saying he thought the Gold..rush? was a gay bar We did eat at a place called Relish Sat. night, this place has GREAT food, first bite of my prime rib gave me a orgasm in my mouth lol. Dew tour It was okay, nothing I would go out of my way to see. Tour of Never Summers factory This was fucking awesome!! We stopped in Denver on the way home and took the tour with Vince (V-man on here) The explanation of what the materials and tech does to make NS great riding boards was amazing. I was very impressed with the fact that almost all of the materials thy use are made in the US, the only thing that isn't is the felt backed paper they use for the top sheet graphics, it's from Italy, the only place it's still made. I got to see the 13/14 season stuff being produced, one of the first outsiders to peep it. (sorry no pics) I will say this, next years line is beautiful graphics wise, and some new tech as well. I got to meet Tracy, one of the founders, he was super chill for such a brilliant man, he designs all the profiles in his head. I've been in dozens of factories in my life and what stood out the most is that the employees all seemed happy with their jobs and took a great amount of pride in the work they do. That's something America needs to get back too. Almost forgot to add, when we first walked into the office, there was a poster board on one of the filing cabinets with quotes about NS from various forums and one was from hobomaster lol Last edited by JeffreyCH; 12-25-2012 at 06:06 AM. |

Looks like a great time. Vince is an awesome rep for Never Summer. Tracy is a great guy to talk to. It's obvious he gets his business and knows how to keep it around. If I ever go into a business for myself that is one person who I will try to consult.
