Doing a season here in Niseko and if you love powder you have to come here. 8m so far at village level since late November. Past 3 days alone has yielded 1m worth of champagne powder.
Have a look at our highlights so far this winter. I wouldn't say we're very good but it's definitely a load of fun. |

If you're doing Niseko United get an all-mountain pass. Just hit up all the gates man. Do a peak hike out Gate 3, definitely a must-do experience.
If in Hirafu do the Miharashi run. Probably best run on the mountain. Look out for Superstition in Niseko Village as well. |

You here for the season? Working somewhere? Today has been the first day in 22 straight days of snowfall that it has not snowed. |

Highlights from January to March here in Niseko, Japan including Rusutsu, Kiroro, hiking Shiribetsu-dake, Annupuri, Niseko Village, Hirafu and Hanazono. There were some absolutely epic days this winter but March has been disappointing with it becoming warm and windy. To round it up, last winter was much better. Fewer punters, consistent snow, low winds. This winter has been a lot more busy (longest lift line I've had was no more than 10 mins mind, and that was at it's absolute peak early Jan) and the snow has come in patches. We've had days where it's snowed half a metre in 4 hours but late Jan and most of March was windy. Still, it was a really really fun season all round. Can't complain with 18m of fresh champagne powder. Enjoy the video and do visit Niseko if powder is your thing. If you have questions about the place shoot away, I'll try to help with whatever knowledge I've amassed here over 2 winters. Last edited by riziger; 03-25-2013 at 07:15 AM. |
