Plattekill mountain Ny? - Snowboarding Forum

Hey, i'm heading up to Plattekill mtn. weekend of the 16th and would like to know how it is for snowboarding? also it compared to windham and hunter i know its not as big but i know it doesnt attract crowd so lift lines will be a big plus. please get back anyone. Thanks!

Plattekill is totally worth it if they have the coverage, don't think twice about it! Especially glades.

Very little snowmaking, and great natural terrain. Closest you can get to MRG on a board.

Edit: Blows Hunter and Windham away for terrain. Locals in the Cats head there, avoid all the knuckleheads at the other two. Belleayre worth a look too if just looking to beat the Hunter/Windham crowds and not into the glades, though Belleayre has some good ones, just not as steep as Plattekill.

ok sounds good! and by terrain do you mean natural bumps, drops, jumps etc? and by mrg do you mean mad river glenn

Yes natural bumps, drops, and all. Plattekill is often called the Mad River Glenn of the Catskills. Only open Fri/Sat/Sundays. Great hill.

Highest natural snowfall in the region too.

wow i didnt think it was too crazy but shrug i didnt ride the glades now im sad i missed out
