freestyle board which to get signal park or rome? - Snowboarding Forum

I starting to ride park and i'm pretty good at it but i having trouble deciding what board to get... Should i get a rome artifact 147 or a signal park series 151.... i'm looking to do some butter and jumps so if anyone can helo me out It would be great i wieght 170 and i'm about 5ft 6in

If your hitting jumps check the Rome Graft instead of the Artifact. It is *slightlly* stiffer, and will ne able handle landings better than the Artifact (which is a PURE jib deck). I'v got a Graft, and trust me, it's stil PLENTY soft for wipping your margrin-spread all over the park and mountain. 147 might be too small, too. Check the 150/151 weight ranges. I think you might tap-out weight max for the 147, but not sure.

im gunna be doing more jib this year so i was wondering which board was softer the signal or the rome artifact

The signal is much softer. The Signal Park Series is one of the softest boards on the market. It still has good pop and is super light too. I like it because I was about to go from 148 to 150 for more stability and it's not much different on rotations because of the light weight. Signal makes some really nice boards for all styles of riding too. Omni is a sweet shred deck. I love my park series though.

I'm 160lb and 5' 7" as well. If that info helps. 147 sounds way too small for someone 170lbs. It might be cool for rails and jibbing, but it won't cut it as an all round deck. I have a 147 Ride Kink and it's sketchy at high speeds.

Amen brother!

I also agree with Sedition, the Artifact is a floppy son of a bitch and if you happen to land on the tail just wrong that thing folds in half under your weight. I weigh 175ish and have a 153 artifact and that thing gets crazy under me at times. I'd look at a larger board if I was you man.
