From what I've seen in person, get their DECKS only and buy the rest of the hardware yourself. Past that point, I'm no expert really, but I think that Kracked Skulls setups can be a good beginner...

If anything, ones I tried are a tad too short, but they seem to work just fine so far. Longer bolts you can always cut down to the right size.

Generally, yea. Shorter and lighter is easier to maneuver. I'm 5'11" and I had a 167 Rossi, now I have 156 and its a world of difference.
