With a size 15 boot you will definitely need a wide board. I don't even know if most wide boards are wide enough for size 15s.

Rotating your highbacks to be parallel to your heel edge definitley makes a big difference. With them rotated, your backwards force goes directly into the entire highback and into the edge.
