the new chair going in here will replace thecurrent tbar. the new terrain is awesome, it's a powder trap back there too. tbar was only open fri/sat/sun which made it really nice on fridays to see what had stacked up all week. reports from groomer friends had thursday night groomers in that zone having the pow up to and blocking their windshields. kinda hope the new chair is also 3days/week. 3-4 killer natural ravines back there too, one is 500yds of treed natural halfpipe

next project coming soon too is to move or replace Hellroaring chair with one that comes out of Hellroaring and goes to the summit, that will be rad

How do they stay in business? I mean for a while New England was dropping resorts left and right and that's with Boston and NYC a few hours away. What makes the operating costs so low that these big areas can survive? If i'm going to make a trip out there, which I really want to do, I don't see the point in sitting in lift lines so MT sounds kind of promising.

here i don't think there has been much struggle to survive, more a question of how much they will thrive

1. snow, fuktons

2. Canadians

3. record season pass sales, they made it so reasonable that weekenders from canadia get full passes

the thing that is difficult for many to come here is the remoteness, extra flight leg needed.

Yep, even from BC it's kinda far. But i really want to go... Big Sky is a sister resort, so i get 10 free days with my season pass. Not bad for a 2-week trip.

The problem with crowds is much more than just liftlines... It's crowded slopes with zigzagging skiers and tracked out snow what sucks the most.

you won't find that unless you come on the peak weeks of Family Day, otherwise a normal weekday is maybe a few hundred ppl on the hill
