Suggestion: Fashion to Outerwear - Snowboarding Forum

i dunno. we'll see what the general concensus is i guess. Currently the fashion section just seems to be bickering about Fashion vs. Function. Maybe if we split it up everyone can be happy?

Yeah, I don't really care for "fashion" either. So let's change that bitch! Outerwear works for me, or we can add some new forums. Change it up a little. I guess let's keep in mind we do have the equipment forums which kind of cover, boots, goggles that sort of thing. So maybe Outerwear is the way to go. Let's get some thoughts/ideas on this and then in the next day or two I'll implement the changes.

Keeping the fashion section and creating a new one would be nice. That way people can still ask questions about color combinations and "steeze" in fashion and people that want opinions on actual technical aspects can have a category where more useful questions can be asked.

I would vote first for Outerwear and then Softgoods. Maybe toss in a distinguishing word from fashion and say technical outerwear? or something of the like

yep, i say keep the fashion and add "technical outwear" and maybe even innerwear for people who are looking for something like socks, baselayers, midlayers and that stuff

also, just as i'm moving on to the next section of my daily reading, it would be nice if instead of "General Equipment" it was broken up into 3. "Boards", "Boots", and "Bindings" so that if you're looking for a specific piece of gear, you don't have to sift through 3 times as many threads in order to find one that is relevant to the equipment that you're looking for. I also think that this would cut down a bit on the posting of new threads with questions that have been answered hundreds of times already.... just a thought

i like the idea too....

we kind of invaded an almost unused forum back in the day when TOS crashed and made it work. i think this place sees enough traffic now that we should make it work for us and not just live with what was here when we got here.
